it would be one thing if apple dropped update support for stuff but software could still run on older versions, but i have a mac from only like 10 years ago, and the latest version of macos(from 2015) that will run on it is too old for almost any bit of software. mac programs just dont run on older versions.

compare that to windows, which, despite all it's flaws, will still try and run a windows 98 program on 7, and a windows 10 program on vista. microsoft is infinitely committed to backwards compatibility, only dropping support for 16 bit programs when 10 released. that's right, they only dropped support for programs compiled for DOS-based apps when they released windows 10.

compare that to linux, which has apps isolated similar to mac's, but which will let you run said apps on anything linux, provided the underlying linux version supports container nonsense (since 2013). you also have the option of just compiling most programs yourself, which most software projects make easy

my point, then, is that apple is a shady greedy bitch. they create locked down hardware, which only runs their software. they lock down what version of their software can run. finally, they create so many breaking changes between versions, that it becomes impossible to run new apps on old versions. i have a legacy server that would've come new from the factory running vista. it runs modern windows, and works great. there is 0 reason my mac couldn't at least try and run newer versions, but for greed. but so tim cook can force me to pay up.

i dont have that money. this mac was a gift from a family friend. this server is from a pawn shop. i understand apple is a "luxury brand"(yikes) or whatever bs, but they actively limit my ability to use what i own. it's shit like this that's why i hate apple. having the latest gizmos is a privilege, and apple actively harms me and people like me who lack it.

Everyone is all about supporting autistic folks until they do things that are ‘gross’ or unhygienic.

For example, I spit when I talk because It’s hard to control my saliva. I also am prone to drooling.

I couldn’t dry myself off effectively until I was over 13 years old. I don’t wash my body frequently other than my privates sometimes because of deficits in motor skills and just the inability to effectively do it each time.

I can only slightly scrub my hair with shampoo but it’s dirty after a day because i can’t wash it efficiently. I go days without washing my hair.

I can’t shave or trim any body hair, I can’t remember to use deodorant. I don’t brush my teeth for over a week because no one tells me to and I can’t reliably do it without support.

I’ve never been able to wipe enough after using the bathroom usually leading to wet spots in my underwear. I’ve had UTIs because I can’t realize that my bladder is full. It’s slightly better now but I remember a year ago I held everything in so long that I dribbled some in my underwear because I didn’t go to the bathroom until last second. This happened frequently at home and school. And I would be too embarrassed and didn’t change.

It’s not gross or nasty that certain autistics need substantial support for things like hygiene, toileting, and grooming. Or don’t have support and are left dirty because they can’t do it themselves. You’re not any less human or a person for dealing with these things. I love you/platonic 🫂

Autism. Is. A. Disability. Autism is a disability!! How many times do people have to say it? It’s not just a neurotype, it’s not just our brains working differently, it’s not JUST THAT. I’m angry by this stupid debate. If your autism doesn’t affect you as much, great! But sometimes it affects people. It affects them greatly. I can’t go out by myself, I have meltdowns, I can’t cook complicated things, I can’t be alone for extended periods of time, I’ll never live alone probably, I have bad sensory issues. i love it when bad is very specifically a good roleplayer by giving other people good prompts. like casually bringing up wilbur now to tallulah. or when he put missa in the petting zoo. or all those times he Tormented the Lesbians so they could protect each other from him. its just so !!!! I love watching roleplayers be considerate of other roleplayers and gleefully hand over something they Know the other person's character can react to. i've seen cellbit do it, too (that time he handed his knife to bbh. oh my god). it's not a rare thing, and it's possible to be a good roleplayer without keeping that sort of considerate back and forth in mind, but its one of my favourite things to notice. foolish does it too, sometimes- i haven't watched him much, but i did take note of when he Made Sure to bring jaiden along with him on a cucurucho quest. and basically every interaction he had with bad when the eggs were missing. its just so so good

Early Diagnosed Autistics are the Minority in the Main Autism Community Online

I've just noticed that there are barely any early diagnosed autistics online, well, except for me and a few other people on Twitter.

And i've just realized that this is a problem, as we're being pushed out from the community at large and we barely, once again, see or talk to one another. This is real bad and we feel like we're alone in a community, where we thought we'd be accepted or respected in the community at large.

So, i have resolved this problen with a rather temp solution by creating a subreddit on here that's only for the early diagnosed autistics. The main voice is the early diagnosed.

The most infuriating form of sanism is this idea that mentally ill people/people with mental disorders are just too stupid or too unenlightened to know how to be a proper, well-adjusted person

So many therapists have ignored signs of my unwellness simply because they assumed I was just... being stupid, and I just needed educating about why I'm acting disordered (apparently, mental disorders stop disordering you once you are condescendingly told why you're just disordered and dumb, who knew (sarcasm)).

Like, I could tell them that I knew my behaviour wasn't "rational," wasn't "reasonable" to do or believe and I'd still be treated like I was so dumb I needed hand-holding and scolding about why I'm acting disordered.

I truly wish that people would be able to take the idea of guidance and stop twisting it into "I am superior and enlightened and the people I am trying to help are stupid and wrong and beneath me!"

Listen, I don't gaslight my husband. But there is one situation when I do it. I do it willingly, I will do it with sound of mind, and I will do it till the end of time. Vehemently.

When he sees spoilers of a manga or an anime I got him into, and I know exactly what is about to happen (in this case MHA), I will deny the fucking hell out of this and say that the spoiler is taken completely out of context and that it's not what it seems like, even if it is EXACTLY what it seems like and he assumes correctly.

He got spoilered for the VERY LAST CHAPTER of MHA and what happens to Midoriya and what happens in the war and shit and let me tell you guys

It is fucking hard to keep my mouth shut about what happens (or... happened) in all the new chapters that came out (he's anime only, so far). He is super invested and reads my fanfiction, even betas the not-yet-published chapters. He is super invested, and spoilers just take the fun out of things.

pls I don't wanna gaslight my husband. I just wish people would tag spoilers at least for a little while after the new chapter/episode was published. He's not even on tumblr or has his own tiktok, and he definitely doesn't go out of his way to explicitly go for MHA content online exactly for this reason.
